Zinmag Futura Blogger Template edit post

Posted by Clyde On Sunday, February 15, 2009
Recently we have been featuring a lot of templates from Jinsona, who has created the Zinmag series for wordpress. Today we have the Zinmag Futura that was converted to blogger by Cahaya Biru.
Zinmag Futura Blogger Template
If you have seen the Zinmag Remedy template that has the slider in the header that enables you to showcase your blog's featured posts, the Futura has this slider and goes a step ahead with another slider midway, under the featured post, in the image below the new slider is the one with the Batman image.
Zinmag Futura Blog Footer
Lets start from the beginning, top left we can see RSS buttons to subscribe, a header title and description, the section ends with a neat search bar. Now we have a double drop down menu, and then the slider. Under the slider we move to the featured post and then comes the second slider.

After that we have a nicely created post introduction section with a readmore and comments link. The template ends with a three column footer. The sidebar starts with a tabbed navigation section, it then has a widget to pull in your twitter updates and then divides into two columns. So here we have another fantastic blogger template!

    Hey Sunt,

You need to look for - div class="panel" in Edit HTML and below that you will see the image code, image source link etc, you can add your images and links there, and if you want to add more slides, just copy-paste the code:)

    Hello,

I don't know why this theme is so broken with IE 8, with Firefox and Chrome it's ok (except for the "stepcaroussel h2 " on which I erased the "overflow" in the CSS..

Does anyone can solve that IE CSS problem ?

    Thks

  18. Clyde said,

    @ Nicolas

im sorry, compatibility with IE is generally a bit$h and I am not good at it

  19. Clyde said,

    @ jun joke

i guess around 15opx in height not sure just approximating, you can download the temp n check the style sheet

  20. Firefox it's okay. But with Safari and I'm getting reports of IE as well. Its not so good.

With IE, I've got some post content (youtube) spilling out onto the front page.

With IE and Safari, the text (and thereby links) on the slidder do not work.

    Here's the blog: http://fixexpo.blogspot.com

    @ Fix Expo Team

i just checked ur blog in IE7 its perfect... i dont have safari

  22. Hi Clyde,

Thank you so much for checking it out. Let me just point out what I'm seeing. I've uploaded a few of the screen shots to a folder on my photobucket account: http://s265.photobucket.com/albums/ii205/fixexpo/blogissues/

    Again the blog is http://fixexpo.blogspot.com

I don't have IE, but I have people who do who are pointing out things for me with that browser. Below I mention what browser I see the problem and reference the photobucket picture that shows it.

    1) Safari & IE: Text, and thereby link to posts under the slider images doesn't show. (see the no-link-slider image) By the way this is a problem in Safari with even Cahayabiru demo page, and it might be with IE as well as the image on Cahayabiru's download page doesn't show text under the slider images.

    2) Firefox, Safari & possibly IE: When the title of the post is long and goes to a 2nd level it doesn't push the post text down, thereby the author and text is blended on the first line. (see the post-title-overlap image)

    3) Firefox, Safari and possibly IE: Also on the post page, it doesn't show the date and time of the post, despite the fact that it's been activated in the settings to show. (see no-date-or-time img)

The above are really important to me. A lot, if not most of our web users are not as familiar with computer navigation as we are, and we need to be able to communicate with them. One of the reasons I love this theme is that between the slider, featured post and glider I'm able to disseminate a lot of info in a very well laid out manner. If I can't get the three things above fixed I need to go through the painstaking process of finding another theme (took me weeks to settle on this one after trying out two others). So your help is eternally appreciated.

Since I have folk's attention below are lesser desired customization issues:

    4) On the second title page and search page, the featured post and glider still show. (Just go to the website and click on Older Posts at the bottom to see what I mean). This is different from the wordpress version, where it doesn't show on the 2nd page or in the search. Is there anyway eliminate the glidder and title page for the second title page and search page?

    5) How do I get rid of that entire top level with the clock, content feed and comments feed and light colored strip? Ideally I want the top of the blog to start at title of the blog (see what I mean with the no-top image). I don't need the clock and want to move the Content feed and Comments Feed to the right column. Any help with that would be good

    6) Is there anyway to replace the "older posts" on the title page and "older posts-home-newer posts" on the second title page with the actual Page Numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)?

    7) Since I don't currently allow comments on the blog, how do I remove the little chat icon?

    8) How do I remove My Shoutbox?

    9) The search doesn't include posts that have been back dated. For example, the very first post will not show up in the search if you put the keywords in. I added this page after the theme was added.
