Photoblog One Column Blogger Template edit post

Posted by Clyde On Wednesday, August 06, 2008
An addition to the single column template section after quite a while, thanks to Our Blog Templates who have created this original photo blog template for blogspot users.
Photoblog
Photoblog templates for blogger are difficult to find, this one is not so much of a photoblog template as it is a single column template. It would require to have many more features to make it a full fledged photo template, but till one of those appear lets see what this template has to offer.

The blog title is on the top left of the blog while the description finds itself on the right hand side. Theres place for an entire image to be placed in the header without any text on it as the navigational menu appears under it.

The best part of this template is that its wide enough to have a high resolution photograph show on it. Author, comments and labels are at the bottom of the post while the date stamp is just above the headline.
Photoblog Footer
Yes that's a beautiful footer divided into three columns, although this can be found for most of the single column templates on blogspot now.

    Hi!

It´s not working! The message is

The element type "a" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".

  2. Clyde said,

    Hey Pilgrim,

It should be working now, please re download it again thanks for letting me know.

    Cheers,
    Clyde

  3. Mark said,

Hmm just replaced template in blogger with this and it didn't work. Bummer. I don't want to spend the time to figure out why.

  4. Clyde said,

    Mark,

You need to upload the template with the upload button provided on the edit html screen rather than replacing the code over there.

    Cheers,
    Clyde

  5. I really like this template, but when I use it, it wont show my header. Is there a fix for this?

  6. Unknown said,

The header picture won't come up. Is there someone where we can download the header?

  7. I really like this but would need tabs at top and a header which I can't find. Can you help?

  8. Clyde said,

    @ Chid Photography, Icess, Paula

Create your own header image, and put it up by replacing the current header link on the blog...

    :D

  9. I can't seem to figure out how to set anchor tags within blogspot using the linklist. Can you help?

  10. trishia said,

I've tried to upload three of your templates to blogger, all have ended with blogger giving me an error screen with the code: bX-7m0mrj
When I go to the support page and search that code, it just talks about refreshing my page and clearing cookies... which I've done. Any suggestions?

  11. Clyde said,

    @ Supercalla,

You need to go into the edit html and look for the existing Anchor text and place your links and create new ones from there

    @ Trishia,

You need to back up your widgets, delete them and then upload the new template! Cheers!

  12. Hisham said,

    i tried.. but still cannot..

  13. Clyde said,

    Johan,

What seems to be the problem?

  14. Indra said,

I have deleted all the widget and then upload the script and still won't work. Error code came up 'bX-69mzb8'.

  15. Bhavika said,

    hi Indra,

You can try clearing your cookies and delete temp files and try uploading again, it should work. Coz I tested it as well, it worked...good luck!

  16. How do I center my header? It is centered between the sides but it needs to move up towards the top. How can I make the entire outer background (that is light grey now) blue? Also how do I add those tabs at the top. I am confused.

  17. Clyde said,

@ carly all these functions can be accessed from the edit html

the header image can be moved if you can spot it in the edit html, take a look at the margin properties and change them accordingly

you need to find the background color code and change it

look for the anchor text of the pre given links and change it accordingly

  18. andriko.l said,

    Hi,

Hmm, like the layout, can't seem to get comments working - suggestions?

  19. Clyde said,

    @ andriko

    search for <b:include data='post' name='comments' /> and add the following code immediately below it <b:include data='post' name='comment-form'/>

This template perfectly suits my blog http://walkthewilderness.blogspot.com

I haven't yet implemented it for just one reason, I m just can't figure out how to create the links within the linkbar. Do I need a seperate blog for each of the tabs for example in your sample you have blog, about, templates and blogger templates. Now the link address for each needs to be a separate blog or a separate post ? I searched online for many days, but couldn't figure it out.

Pl. help me with this. Thanks...Thomas

  21. Bhavika said,

    Hi Thomas,

Its pretty simple. Go to Layout-Page Elements-you will see Linkbar there, click on edit and add the links you want:) for eg Home, About, Contact Us...you need to create separate pages for these sections, like an about page or a contact page etc. then put those respective links in the link list.

    Nice pics on your blog:)

    Cheers

  22. Unknown said,

Thanks for the blogger template. It is a perfect size for showing my wedding images:
    http://craigsandersphotography.blogspot.com/

The only thing is I have changed the background colour to a light blue, however it keeps disappearing. Am I doing something wrong?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Eva

  23. Just downloaded the template and got a couple of questions:

    1. If I hide the blog title & desc, the image won't show at all.
    2. The 'recent posts' column always showed blank

Really appreciate it if you have time to look into it. Thanks!

  24. Clyde said,

    @ craig

your photography is awesome, did you change the color in edit html?

    @ xpressive studio

    1. not necesary you can have an image withouth the title n description

    2. you need to put in your feed url in there for the recent posts to show up!

  25. Unknown said,

    Hi Clyde.

Sorry I never got back to you. I had changed the colour in edit html but nothing happened. I finally worked out that I had to take out -
    $bodybgColor url(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2087/2489262980_7320997b8a_o.gif) repeat left top;

Next thing I need to try find is
    b:include data='post' name='comments'
So I can show my comments box. I can't find this bit of code.
I am a bit of a novice at this, but kind of getting there.

    thanks eva

  26. Clyde said,

once u do that, then you should find the code

I've been trying to download this template and I keep getting this error message: Cannot view XML input using style sheet...the server did not understand the request or the request was invalid. Error processing resource 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtm...'

I've tried downloading from you and from the Our Blogger Templates site and neither will work for me. Any suggestions? Thanks,
    Jen

  30. Bhavika said,

@ Jen - I just downloaded it for one of the blogs, and it works perfectly okay...try to download again, extract the xml file on ur desktop and upload that in edit html.:)

  31. hi,

may i know how to enable the comment form? my blog is at http://sitiruzaimah.blogspot.com

  32. Clyde,

    http://lavidasantiaguida.blogspot.com/

Everything was fine, but all of a sudden the header image shifted to the right as you can see. I checked the html, and all the margin and padding for the header img is 0. Why is it shifted like that?

Also, how do I make it so that the linkbar sits right underneath the image, without the space in between?

    Thanks,

    Boris

  33. Clyde said,

    @ Siti

    search for <b:include data='post' name='comments' /> and add the following code immediately below it <b:include data='post' name='comment-form'/>

    @Boris

Hey boris I took a look at your blog and i am not too sure it looks fine not to the right on firefox at least. What comes to my mind is are the dimensions of the header image exactly the same as the original?

  34. Unknown said,

    hi clyde
sorry I have not been able to get onto this site in ages. An error kept coming up ... weird?

  41. I have the same issue with not being able to change the wrapper background. I took out the bg url as was suggested in an earlier post. I watched the tutorial and it still won't change from white. I can change all my other colors just fine. Any suggestions?

  42. Bhavika said,

  43. Oh sorry, Carol again here, here's the link to my blog: www.serendipity365photos.blogspot.com

Thanks, again just wondering if the word "flickr" could be deleted from the sides and bottom of the template. Thanks,
    Carol

  44. Clyde said,

    @ carol

in your edit html, look for background

    you will see a link

    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2087/2489262980_7320997b8a_o.gif

just beside it, replace this link with a background image of your choice...

    cheers,

  45. Hi just uploaded your template.
How can I get my existing header img to show again, and how can I get the Labels in the more compressed and not stretching all the way down?

  46. Clyde said,

    @ Garrett

Hey you can use ur own header image any height but it has to be 920 px wide to fit correctly, then upload it from the page elements header section

you can also change your label format from the page elements

  47. I feel like the biggest dummy. I cannot for the life of me get a header picture to upload onto my blog. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I even tried uploading the tiger image they used. What could I possibly be doing?
Is there a way to do it in the html instead of on the page layout?

  48. Bhavika said,

@ Sweet Simplicity - If you read the above comments, the header image needs to be 920 px wide, then it should fit properly. It gets uploaded from Page Elements itself. Try this out :) n let me know if it doesnt work. Also paste your blog link here, so I could take a look

  49. Jodi R. said,

I can't find for the life of me to add the comment form...

  54. Clyde said,

    @ kelly

log into blogger.com with your username and password and you will be able to see your blog and work with it from there

if you want the bar i can guide you how to get it back, but personally without the bar looks more professional

  55. Tanjanica said,

Hi, I need help. I can't get the blog to show the information above the header. I also can't get the image to fill the header space. Basically, I want the header and link section to look like the template but I'm having so many problems. Here's what I have so far via trial and error.

    www.tancrowderphotography.com

    tanjanica@tancrowderphotography.com

    I really appreciate your assistance

  56. Clyde said,

    @ Tanjanica

hello firstly the size of the image in the header has to be exactly the same size as the image you are trying to replace

i see that you currently have no header let me know how I can assist you futher, one problem at a time... nice pics

  57. Tanjanica said,

Please take a look at the blog now. Here's what it looks like with the corrections.

Are you unable to see the header?

  58. Clyde said,

@ Tanjanica, nice job, there are two things that i see is theres a little more space on the right of your header image as compared to the left

and ur link bar where home is has a grey spot on the right, both should be easy to fix, look for linkbar in edit html and play around with the width or margins, should work

let me know if you need any more help, nice pics 2 :) cheers

  59. Tanjanica said,

That's the issue that I'm having. I fixed the image, but no matter how much I play with the margins, either I get the grey spot…or the header extends to the right too far. But nonetheless, I fixed it with the use of colors…yay me!

Next issue, how do I get the header above my header image?d For example, the header on the sample template has text above the image.

Thanks for all of your help.

  60. Clyde,

Thanks for this template! I love it!

I'm just now building my site...

Can you take a look at my site and see how I might be able to correct the image size problem in order to get the pictures to fit correctly?

    http://bunchphotography.blogspot.com/

    Thanks!

  61. Clyde said,

    @ tanjanica

lovely job with the template, its looking so different and colorful i like it

im not sure if those links there work, i looked through the code and ideally there should be something in your page layout try the description and blog title

    @ Jordan Bunch

ok those are some big pictures :) nice you should ideally watermark them so people don't steal em

and then see you have more space on the left had side of your pictures so you can knock off your margin in the post on the left

in the edit html look for post in the css and play around with the values there, it could also be affected by the container values im not sure which one unless i play around with it, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find .. good luck

  62. Jodi said,

Clyde, I've read through all these comments but I'm having a hard time getting my comments to work. I've double checked that my embedded comments are enabled under my settings, but my search for the <b:include data='post'..... is not coming up with anything. I also have my expand widgets templates box checked. Why in the world can I not find this piece of code? And how can I get my comments working? http://photographybyjodiann.blogspot.com

    Thanks!

  63. Jodi said,

Ah ha! Nevermind. After the 14th try of copying and pasting your code from above into my search bar for the HTML editor, I finally decided just to slowly type it myself into the search bar and it came up. Maybe there are extra spaces or something in the text you have above. I dunno, but it didn't work until I actually typed it myself. Apologies!

  64. Jodi said,

For some reason my landscape-oriented images are not completely centered anymore after downloading this template. Blogger tells me the image position is centered, but it's not. How can I fix this? http://photographybyjodiann.blogspot.com

    Thanks for helping me before.

I was just looking to pick your brains again. I've altered something in my html code, I don't what though?! But now my recent post button at the bottom has disappeared :/ Not the smartest thing i've done! And also 'older posts' button now says older postd ops :)

i honestly don't know what i've done. would you have any idea? sorry to be a pain. that teaches me for mucking about with code i don't know.

    thanks

the older postd is quite simple look for the older postd in edit html and change it back to older posts....

the recent posts widget doesnt seem to be there, i mean i cant see it ? if the widget is not on the page do add it again, if the post are showing and the image is missing where was the image hosted, try re-uploading it there...

  69. Unknown said,

    Hi Clyde

I tried to do that but failed... doh! I was just wondering if I gave you my log on details you could fix a few things for me? I would be happy to pay.

Its just a few wee silly things that bug me. Let me know what you think.

    thanks
    Eva :)

  70. clyde- i read through all of these comments and i can't get my header to work. rar! help?

  71. The background says the image is unavailable. Is there a way I can just make the background grey?

    Thanks!!

  72. Clyde said,

    @ jaque

all you need to do is replace the image that isnt working with a grey one, always backup images and host them on your own site or server...
