Bloggermint, a Premium Blogger Template edit post

Posted by Bhavika On Thursday, August 26, 2010
Bloggermint is a premium theme designed by Franklin Manuel. Its a 3 column template with a clean layout and some cool features, which are easy to customize.
bloggermint premium blogger template
The template consists of a dual navigation bar, which is above and below the header. In order to change the links in the topmost menu bar, go to Design--Edit Html and look for the following code -
<ul id='nav1'>

You can add the links to your Home page, contact etc. While the second menu bar below the header image, has a sub-menu to display categories etc. To change the default links, go to Design--Edit Html, search for this code and add your links in the code below this one -
<ul id=’nav2&#8242;>

While in the main column, each post appears automatically in a summarized format with social bookmarking icons at the end of it and an author info widget. In order to edit the text in the author box, access Edit Html and find this code -
<div class='author_info'>

Change the text to what you desire, along with the image link - http://i50.tinypic.com/iw7lec.jpg, create an image with the size 130×130 pixels. Each post also has Facebook and Twitter share button below the headline. To replace the default code with your id, go to Edit Html, expand the template and search for and replace bloggermint with your twitter id -

data-via=’bloggermint’

Bloggermint also includes page numbered navigation. The sidebar has the Subscribe option (Facebook, Twitter, RSS, email and YouTube), you can modify the links in Edit Html, just look for the below code -

<h3 style=’margin-bottom:10px;’>Subscribe</h3>

This is followed by Recent Posts with thumbnails widget, default search box, Archives etc. Overall Bloggermint is lovely theme, can be used for a blog/site with multiple topics, professional blog etc.

    Hi, I have another quick question. When I tried using the "Recent posts" widget I got this error "We're sorry...

    This gadget is configured incorrectly. Webmaster hint: Please ensure that "Friend Connect Settings - Home URL" matches the URL of this site."

    Any advice on how to fix this would be great. Thanks!

    Also, I have a huge blank space above the titles of my blogs on the home page. My blog is http://writingforresiduals.com in case you need to take a look to see what I'm talking about.

    I really appreciate your template and I look forward to getting it configured properly on my blog. Again, thanks in advance for any helpful info you can provide.

    i just took a look at your template and thats just wierd, were you playing around in the edit html prior to this happening, did this just happen or was it like this when you uploaded the theme, please give me some more info...

    Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Clyde. :) Here's what's up.

    As far as the junk at the end of the posts, I figured that out. There were some words about it inside of a pair of braces {} about summary and thumb so I deleted that whole thing, including the braces. And that took care of that.

    When I downloaded the template it had a widget for the recent posts but when I went into it there was code there from my Kontera account instead. So I moved the Kontera code elsewhere and tried using the Recent Posts widget that's on blogger. And that's when I got the message I described above.

    Also, I deleted the attribution widget because it appeared awkwardly at the top of the page next to the header.

    Besides what I mentioned above, the only HTML that I changed was inserting my own links for Blogger, Twitter and such. And I changed the Author info.

    But I know very little about HTML so I wouldn't dare try to alter anything else. The big spaces started appearing once I started adding new posts in the new template.

    I figured out where the spaces were coming from. I went to the design page and clicked on the edit blog link. The box was checked to display ads at the bottom of my posts. However, I had no ads so there was just a big space showing instead. I unchecked the box and problem solved!

    I didn't figure out the recent posts issue but that's minor. Cheers everyone!

    Some points I need to get through:
    1.Slider (DO NOT EDIT HERE!)-what is this and how to configure this.
    2.option of subscribe to e-mail is given two times.How to remove the other one.
    3.There are two options on the top right-social bookmarking and picture-how to configure them(esp. picture option)
    4.google gives the option for favicon in the design section then what is the use of favicon html tags in the edit html option.
