Hybrid News Blogger Theme edit post

Posted by Bhavika On Monday, August 10, 2009
Hybrid News is the original magazine-style theme designed by Free Blogger Template. The 3 column template is packed with lot of features to facilitate display of your top content. Hybrid News Blogger Theme
Hybrid News comes with a dual menu bar, each above and below the header image. Adjacent to the first navigation bar is an internal search box, while the header also contains ad space on the right. There is a slider section to display your latest posts, with a brief about your post and an image. Since the slider script uses Atom feed, it will automatically update the slider content.

Search for the below code in Edit Html and add your feed url

<div class='feature'>
<script language='JavaScript'>
etc etc
etc
etc
startposts = 0;
numposts = 1;
home_page = &amp;quot;YOUR BLOG URL/feeds/posts/default&amp;quot;;
&lt;/script&gt;

If you want to add more slides, then copy, paster the same code from Edit Html and change the 'startposts' and 'numposts'. For example, if you want 3 slides then it make it
startposts = 2;
numposts = 3;

Below the slider the designer has included a minipost section, where snippets of each post comes with an image. This is followed by two text widgets in case you want to add some content there. The sidebar has 2 boxes before it splits into two more columns, so you can add any blogger features of your choice.
Footer of Hybrid News Blogger Template
Hybrid News Blogger Theme also includes a 4 column footer section, so this magazine template gives you ample space to fit in your content.

    This theme is great but I don't seem to know how to "cut" feature slider and posts summaries "by WORDS". It's still cut by characters which looks ugly.
    Plus I also want to show a READ MORE link for each post and labels/categories under each post title
    Thanks

    :)

    by the way, i want to minimize the TOP and BOTTOM spaces between the sidebars on the right.they're too big. i can't seem to find my way in the html code - lol

    thanks

  12. Bhavika said,

    @ Mabel Tiu - this template picks up posts from the feed and displays automatically in the slider, so you cant really choose which posts! But you can add more number of posts to appear in the slider by changing the numbers in this code in Edit Html -

    startposts = 2;
    numposts = 3;

    SO in Edit html search for the code, copy paste it, and increase the number by 1 in the above code.

  14. Nick said,

    Thanks very much for the blog - I just came across it as I was fixing up my site. I'm having a lot of trouble getting more than one blog entry to appear. I seem to be following directions, but when I copy and paste the code Blogger keeps throwing it back at me because it claims I didn't close something (either script, div, or body....I close loops and then it just finds some other reason to throw an error). Any help would be greatly appreciated....exactly WHICH bits of code do I need to copy in order to get more posts in the slider?

    Thank you in advance.

    Great theme!

    I can't seem to work out how to change the border which is now around the image. The blue border I mean.
    Is that blue border the background image from the body? (bng_2.png ??)

    I would like to use my own style but whatever I do it always shows the border
    I tried
    background-image:url(none);
    background:none;

    to apply these and other try-outs on the img tag in the code
    a href="'+posturl+'" img src="'+img[i]+'" width="'+imgwidth+'" height="'+imgheight+'" a

    But it doesn't seem to work?

  18. Clyde said,

    @ 79Atoms

    ummm are you using internet explorer, it generally puts a blue border around an image, try using opera and let me know

    image height and width should work without any issues i have used them myself but on this template paste me your exact image code, parse it and then paste it

  19. Excellent template. I have done all you said but I get one problem. Can you tell me how I make all the letters from left to little bit right?

    Hi Clyde,

    I'm having the same problem Corp is having in reference to the "read more" cutting the characters instead if the words. I tried to access the tutorial you mentioned but the link is dead.

    I'm also having trouble adding extra slides. As far as copying the html, how much of the html do I copy? I've been to several different blog sites and each person says something different and I have yet been able to get a third slide to work.

    Also how do I get content added via my headers?

    Here's my site:

    http://datingwhilebrown.blogspot.com/

    Thanks in advance!

  21. Bhavika said,

    @ Selena - To add extra slides you need to read the above post carefully, the instructions re given with the code.

    Where do you want to add content via my headers? Do you mean the navigation bars? PLs be specific

  22. Gloria said,

    I tried to do that but it won't work pass 2 slides. Whenever I tried to add 3 the slide will either stop working or freeze up. Can you tell me where to start and stop copying the HTML? I think that I'm either copying too much or not enough.

  23. Admin said,

  27. Clyde said,

    @ CNP

    please go through the comments the instructions have been provided before...

  28. I'm having the same problem trying to increase the post preview. Can you point me to the snippet of html that needs to be adjusted? I would ideally like it to allow me to add the cutoff, using the blogger editor.

  29. Bhavika said,

    godlovesfags - Search for this summaryPost = 350; in Edit Html and tweak the number as per your need. Hope this helps!
