White Slide Blogger Template edit post

Posted by Clyde On Wednesday, April 01, 2009
The White Slide Video template was built by Ipietoon using scripts from dynamic drive that Jinsona used in the Zinmag template series that was first converted to Blogger by Falcon Hive.
White Slide Blogger Template
The white slide starts off with a dynamic slider that displays two of your featured posts at a time, the amount of posts is not limited except by the increasing size of your web page with the image weight. The template starts off with a navigation bar on the top of the screen and is followed by the blog title.

The post titles are nice and bold with a neat section under them that holds the Author, Post Date, Labels and Comment Count in a nice neat strip. The sidebar on the right starts off with a neat little search bar that matches the blog theme and then has a specially created section that stands out where you can place a widget that you like.

The sidebar branches into two sections making the white slide a three column video blogging template for blogger. Its theme is quite minimalistic except for the slide gradient shifts in color towards the top of each of the columns.

  1. I tried to change my current blogger template to your "White Slide Blogger Template", but it saved to a ZIP file and when I tried to open that file, it said it could not read the xml????

Did I save your template incorrectly?

@ Barb - Watch the video guide below to solve this prob...you need to extract the xml file on your desktop n then upload it...shud work fine :)

  3. Okay, I got it to post, but how do I customize it and change stuff? The header toolbar that says customize and takes me to my dashboard so I can move settings and change titles and content is missing. (( can you tell I don't know what I'm doing? )) www.shermanhouseofpraise.blogspot.com

I took a look at your blog, the thing is now, your javascripts are not functioning.

You need to visit this page http://www.ipietoon.com/2009/01/blogger-template-white-slide.html

Download the javascripts, upload them as you would have been instructed in the video and then save your template. All customizations have to be done via the edit html, watch the video guide on edit html for more details.

  5. I have downloaded your template and have found a lot of solutions myself. I think the White Slider looks phenomenal! http://shermanhouseofpraise.blogspot.com

    I have 6 questions:
    1. My gallery pictures are short and wide. How and where do I change this? I have no technical training and do not understand technical jargon/verbage.

    2. Can I make the Labels and the Archive to hide the information and include a drop down box to view it, if someone clicks on that tab?

    3. Is there a way to attach every post that has to do with one of my navigational tabs "Events" so that when that tab is clicked, every related post is viewed?

    4. Can the date and labels box be moved to the bottom of the post, right above the comments box?

    5. Can I take the "ABOUT ME" section off the front page and enter it into the 'Who We Are' post?

    6. How do I create a link for e-mails? I would like to put a person's name and attach a hyperlink in html (like I used to do on my Blogger template) and it link to that person's e-mail without their e-mail address being made visible to everyone.

I know some of these are not specifically White slide issues...but I figure you know the answers.

Thanks so much for ANY help,
    Barb

    hi Barb,

I am gonna try to answer all of them one by one

    1. Your pictures are automatically resized to fit the screen, so you have to resize your pics and upload them keeping in mind the height and width of the gallery. Upload post card type pictures rather that ones that are longer.

    2. Yes you can change the way your labels and archives are displayed take a look at this for labels http://hackosphere.blogspot.com/2006/08/drop-down-labels-blogger-beta-hack.html and look up google for the other

    3. Yes copy the event link location from your labels, right click on events copy link and put that in your navigation bar.

    4. Yes it can be moved you will have to look for the correct code in the edit html are re position it as to where you want

    5. Yes just delete the about me from the layout page and put in a new html or text gadget and put in the information over there

    6. Barb take a look at this link http://www.outfront.net/tutorials_02/adv_tech/mailto.htm

    Clyde Fernandes
