Mahusay Blogger Template edit post

Posted by Bhavika On Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Mahusay Template is the original creation of Paddsolutions and brought to blogger by Free Blogger Template. This 2 column template has an interesting layout that is enhanced with few nice features.
Mahusay Blogger Template
Mahusay template starts with a horizontal strip where you can fit in your ads, and it also includes RSS feed and twitter icon. Below that is the header space for blog title and description, where you can also add another banner ad. That's followed by the navigation bar with the search box on the right. Although its not really visible in the dark background.

The highlight of the template is the featured content slider where you can exhibit your favorite posts along with the title and one line description linking to the targeted page. Next to it is another small section to include About the Author and Subscribe to blog option.

The colour scheme of the blog is quite appealing, cream, black and white. The main posts appears in white boxes with date stamp, comments and labels on top, followed by the headline and description of the post. It appears in mini posts format and has the Read More feature incorporated in the template. At the bottom of the main column are two separate boxes to include Recent Comments and Recent Posts.

While the single column in the sidebar has another ad spot on top, followed by the rest of the blogger widgets, labels, archives etc.

    Hi there,

    This is a beautifully designed template which I would love to use for my blog. However, I am unable to get its features to work. How do I
    a)enter details "about the author" ?
    b)How do I replace the text "Elegance" with my own as well as the picture with one of my own Pictures?
    c)How do I remove "Adsense"?

    Any help would be much appreciated

  2. Bhavika said,

    @ Helmi - Go to edit html and search for the code below -

ADD AUTHOR INFO.

    b) You need to create a post and start writing, it will appear auto in the main column

    c) If you search for AdSense in Edit Html, you will come across 3 codes, just remove those and save the template. Cheers :)

    I absolutely LOVE this template, but am not sure about how to replace the information (picture/words) that show up on the slider. I temporarily installed it into another one of my blogs, and everything came up perfectly - except for the featured content info in the header.

    Would you be able to offer any assistance on how to customize the header's featured content widget?

    @ MammaDawg - Go to Edit Html and look for this code -

<script>var startposts = 0; numposts = 1; var showposttitle = true; showpostdate = false; var showpostsummary = false; var numchars = 0; </script><script src="BLOG URL/feeds/posts/default?orderby=published&alt=json-in-script&callback=rp">
    </script>

<script>var startposts = 0; numposts = 1; var showposttitle = false; showpostdate = false; var showpostsummary = true; var numchars = 150; </script><script src="BLOG URL/feeds/posts/default?orderby=published&alt=json-in-script&callback=rp">
    </script>

    <img class='full' src='IMAGE URL>

    Just add your blog url and image url, where its mentioned in the code, to display more posts in the slider you need to change the "startposts = 1; numposts = 2" and subsequently increase the number to add more posts in the slider. The image size is 606x225...this should work for you :)

    cheers

Sorry! & Thank you for your reply, I really do love this layout & hope to be able to use it as it's suppose to be. Is the slide not working because I don't have a javascript hosting?

  10. I need some help. I tried linking my EDIT link to a faq. published it, but I am unable to read more. Any advise.

  11. Bhavika said,

    @ legendswife - Hey, your faq section works fine, are you still facing any problem?

  12. ..... said,

    Hello, this may sound like a stupid question, but how can I remove the number of posts per label that appear in parentheses () in the labels section? The check box that says "Show number of posts per label" is already unchecked but the numbers are still shown. This is the url: http://d-lependu.blogspot.com/ - it is the section that says "CONTENT"
    Thanks!

  13. Bhavika said,

    @ D - Thats not a problem. Here's the fix. Go to Edit Html, click on expand widget templates, and search for the following code -
    (<data:label.count/>)

    remove that line of code, and save the template. It should work.

    is it possible to have the featured content pictures automatically update like the posts do? or do i have to manually edit the image url's in the html?

    I've got an issue with my Featured Content, and I'm not quite sure what caused it. It was working fine, then I changed a few of the image links, and now it won't scroll, and rather than a transparent text box below, its an opaque gray bar above.

    Went back to the previous setup and it wouldn't work either then.

    Any help would be hugely appreciated.

    @ Mark

    it would be easier for me to understand if you post me a screen shot, at the moment your blog looks fine ... as you probably changed the theme with frustration, let me know if you need to get this one back on track and working

  21. Mark said,

    Thanks Clyde,

    Yes, after nearly a week of banging my head against the wall (even reloading it from scratch didn't fix it...and even other templates with the same slider would upload broken) I finally found this current one that I'm using, and so far, all seems well.

    Thanks anyway, though! Mahusay is one sweet looking template.

  22. hi. i installed this template and still cant seem to change the featured posts on top.

    pls help.

    Hello! This is a fantastic template, which I've managed to tweak as needed, except for one thing.

    The Featured Content section doesn't seem to work in some versions of IE. In my browser (version 8) the slider works some of the time.

    In my husband's IE (version 9) it doesn't work; it appears the way other commenters described above (text appears in an opaque grey bar above the picture), plus it gives him a security warning.

    And at my college campus, when I try to open my website I get a pop-up message saying IE can't open my website at all. (I'm unsure of the version of IE that my college has.)

    Another website for the Mahusay template gives instructions for an IE update: http://www.freebloggertemplate.info/2009/07/mahusay-free-premium-blogger-template.html

    I've followed those steps, but all the problems I described above are still there.

    I'd be grateful for any help you can give. :)
